Trip to the Uffizi Gallery

A quarter century ago, I went to the Uffizi Gallery while studying in Florence. I was a little overwhelmed with the crowds. It all felt rushed in the middle of a tour through the history of Italian Art History. This week, I went with my family. And it was one of the great art history experiences of my life. Along with the Prado, it was a unique moving experience. We took our time, explored, talked, learned from our tour guide, grabbed some dolce, sat on the roof talking with the birds, looked at the sky, joked, and took in the dynamic collection. I wrote about the trip in my last blog. We dropped by the Basilica San Lorenzo on the way over. Here are some of the pictures from the day.
